Paola Balseca, MS
Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern
Hello! My name is Paola Balseca and I am a Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern. I was born in Ecuador, raised in New York City, and I lived in the Northern Virginia area before establishing myself in the Central Florida/Orlando area 12 years ago. With a rich background spanning 24 years in education, encompassing various teaching and leadership roles in different settings, I come to this new journey with a wealth of understanding and compassion.
My passion for mental health counseling stems from supporting individuals and families through adversity, cultivated during internships after graduating from Troy University in 2022. Working closely with women, adolescents, and families impacted by violence and trauma, I've seen the transformative power of empathetic, culturally sensitive care. My counseling approach prioritizes holistic healing, offering a range of modalities tailored to each client's unique needs.
Central to my practice is building mutual, respectful relationships where clients feel empowered to explore their experiences. Flexibility, empathy, and active listening guide my interactions, ensuring clients feel heard and understood.
Outside of work, I'm a proud mother and enjoy yoga, dancing, and traveling. I'm eager to embark on this journey with you, dedicated to supporting our community's mental well-being.
